Geysir Green Energy at GeoPower Europe 2009
Thor Gislason, CTO of Geysir Green Energy presented the Company's view on “Building a Large-Scale Geothermal Industry in Europe” at the GeoPower Europe conference on regulation, finance & investment in Europe's new geothermal markets that took place on 3-4 December in Munich, Germany.
Thor's presentation focused on where the European geothermal market is today, future development and renewable investment ahead, how it can best compete, the key barriers and a roadmap to further growth. Other geothermal industry leaders talked about how increased government support, public and private financing, and new technologies can and will make geothermal energy and exciting renewable energy investment prospect in 2010.
The conference focused on other topics such as comparing incentive regimes and uncovering the best opportunities in emerging markets. Navigating concession and permitting systems and understanding the competitive environment. Raising capital through World Bank, EU and private financing and creating economically viable projects using low-temperature energy conversion technologies.
