IAE signs MOU for Mammoth Lakes District Heating Project
On Mars 20th 2008, Iceland America Energy, Inc., signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Town of Mammoth Lakes to analyse the feasibility of a District Heating facility supplying the Town with hot water for domestic heating.
Previously IAE signed an MOU with the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort to do the same and is in discussions with SnowCreek, two of the larger companies in the Town of Mammoth Lakes. If all goes well, IAE's target is to drill two medium temperature wells later this year to prove up the resource. Next winter will be used to permit the facility and design the DH system with the intentions of starting construction in summer of 2009.
